Garment Care

Designed to be worn, cared for, and kept for years.

Our pieces are crafted from natural, high-quality fabrics sourced through heritage distributors and finished by skilled ateliers. Proper care will preserve their structure, drape, and longevity.

1. General Care

  • Handle with clean, dry hands to avoid transferring oils or makeup.
  • Store garments on padded or wooden hangers to maintain shoulder shape.
  • Avoid overcrowding in your closet to protect delicate fibers.

2. Washing and Cleaning

We recommend dry cleaning for all Amān Zya garments.
This preserves fabric integrity, prevents shrinkage, and protects hand-applied trims.

If dry cleaning is not available:

  • Spot-clean gently with cold water and a mild, non-bleach detergent.
  • Test any cleaning product on an unseen area first.
  • Do not machine wash silk, wool, or structured pieces.

3. Pressing and Steaming

  • Use a steamer to remove wrinkles; hold the device a few inches away from the surface.
  • For ironing, use a low to medium heat setting and place a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric.
  • Avoid direct heat on Moroccan sfifa trims or embroidery.

4. Trims and Handcrafted Details

Our sfifa trims are woven by Moroccan artisans using traditional techniques.
Handle them with care:

  • Do not pull or snag.
  • Avoid friction with rough surfaces.
  • Steam lightly, never apply direct iron heat.

5. Storage

  • Hang tailored pieces (shirts, dresses, suits) to maintain structure.
  • Fold knitwear and delicate fabrics to prevent stretching.
  • Keep garments away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade natural fibers.

6. Travel Care

  • Roll rather than fold to minimize creases.
  • Use a lightweight garment bag to protect trims and seams during transit.
  • Steam upon arrival to restore natural drape.

A Note on Natural Fabrics

Minor variations or subtle changes over time are characteristics of natural fibers.
These details reflect the authenticity and craftsmanship of each piece, part of the story you carry as you wear Amān Zya.
